Star Wars Poster

This is the Star Wars poster by the Hildebrandt Bros. And the other original poster that it was based on. I remember wondering why they basically swapped out one poster for one that was almost identical, at least in composision, and all of it's basic elements. The Brother's poster is more colorful, more saturated, but the original was a more accurate likeness of Mark Hamill as Luke, and neither has a very decent likeness of Carrie Fisher aa Leia. Leia is presented as a bare legged heroine, when if you've seen the movie, she doesn't show very much skin at all, let alone an entire leg...maybe if they'd have put a little more cheesecake in the movie, it would have been a bit more successful, and made a bit more than it's pitiful draw at the box office...yeah, okay!
I find it weird anyway, and found these two posters online, and thought it would be interesting to put them side by side.
Last minute addendum, found this page about the Hildebrant bros. and why the poster was painted, etc. Click the link above, in the title.

another from the same day

She's something alright, she's got that look that she'll give you when you she can't let on quite how she feels. When she can't let anyone know what her reaction is, becaue there is none, perhaps she's missing meals.

It's the first verse in the Poem Grande: "J'llyn and the masters of Destiny" okay, I just made that up, maybe it's a line from a seventies song.

Month old Sketch
